Role Overview
EthicalGuard Systems is seeking a curious, highly analytical, and skilled Penetration Tester to join our remote-first security assessment team. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive security assessments and penetration tests on web applications, APIs, and networks.
- Identify, exploit, and document security vulnerabilities while ensuring the safety of production systems.
- Conduct social engineering simulations to test organizational awareness and defensive controls.
- Analyze security architecture and configuration to identify potential misconfigurations and weaknesses.
- Produce detailed reports for stakeholders, translating technical exploits into business risk and actionable remediation plans.
- Collaborate with internal development and engineering teams to provide guidance on secure coding and remediation.
- Stay updated on the latest security research, emerging exploits, and offensive methodologies.
- Develop custom exploit scripts and tooling to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Participate in periodic security posture reviews and red-team operations.
- Document all testing methodology, findings, and evidence in a structured, professional manner.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and web application architectures.
- Familiarity with common penetration testing tools (e.g., Burp Suite, Metasploit, Nmap, Kali Linux).
- Understanding of OWASP Top 10, common exploit methods, and bypass techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a creative mindset for identifying security flaws.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and stakeholder interaction.
- A proactive, ethical, and detail-oriented approach to offensive security.
- Freshers with strong academic foundations in security, relevant CTF (Capture The Flag) experience, or personal lab projects are encouraged to apply; we provide extensive mentorship.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection for consistent, professional virtual collaboration.
Preferred Skills
- Professional security certifications such as OSCP, GPEN, or eJPT.
- Experience in cloud security testing (AWS/GCP/Azure) and containerization security.
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for automation.
- Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code and its security implications.
- Ability to think like an attacker to identify unique pathways to system compromise.
