Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor enterprise network and system activity for potential security threats using SIEM tools.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses.
  • Lead the response to security incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing mitigation steps.
  • Enforce and update internal security policies, access controls, and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, HIPAA, GDPR).
  • Investigate suspicious activities, data leaks, or unauthorized access attempts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional IT and engineering teams to deploy secure infrastructure configurations.
  • Stay updated on the latest cyber security trends, emerging threats, and defensive techniques.
  • Participate in security audits and provide reporting to stakeholders regarding risk and incident status.
  • Assist in developing security training and awareness programs for all employees.
  • Document security incidents, remediation steps, and infrastructure hardening processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Familiarity with security tools and SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, AlienVault, or similar).
  • Solid knowledge of common security vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10) and mitigation strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills for incident reporting.
  • A proactive, vigilant mindset and a passion for protecting digital assets.
  • Freshers with strong academic foundations in networking or cyber security projects are encouraged to apply; we provide extensive mentorship.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection for consistent, professional virtual collaboration.

Preferred Skills

  • Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP.
  • Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python or Bash) for automating security tasks.
  • Experience with endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools.
  • Familiarity with identity and access management (IAM) frameworks.
