Role Overview

UnrealStream Studios is seeking a highly analytical, creative, and performance-focused Unreal Engine Developer to join our remote-first engineering team. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex gameplay mechanics and systems within Unreal Engine.
• Translate design requirements into robust, modular C++ code and Blueprint logic.
• Implement and manage efficient game physics, character AI, and environmental interactions.
• Collaborate with artists and technical animators to integrate high-quality 3D assets and animation systems.
• Optimize engine performance, focusing on rendering efficiency, memory bandwidth, and frame rate stability.
• Debug and resolve technical issues through rigorous playtesting and performance profiling across various hardware profiles.
• Participate in peer code reviews and architectural planning to maintain engineering standards and technical excellence.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal tools, build pipelines, and documentation.
• Research and implement new engine features, such as Lumen, Nanite, or Niagara, to push visual boundaries.
• Document engine-level systems, gameplay logic, and technical workflows for long-term maintenance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related technical field.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and deep understanding of Unreal Engine 5/4 architecture.
• Solid understanding of game development fundamentals, including linear algebra, mathematics, and software design patterns.
• Experience with Blueprint visual scripting and its integration with C++.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git or Perforce.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team.
• A proactive, problem-solving mindset and a deep passion for high-performance interactive software.
• Freshers with strong portfolio projects, game jams, or personal prototypes are encouraged to apply; we provide extensive mentorship.
• Reliable high-speed internet connection for consistent, professional virtual collaboration.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with shader development, material systems, and complex lighting pipelines.
• Understanding of multiplayer networking, replication, and latency mitigation techniques.
• Experience with technical UI development (UMG) and interaction systems.
• Familiarity with cloud backends and build automation tools for high-end production.
• Knowledge of profiling tools (Unreal Insights, PIX) to diagnose engine-level bottlenecks.
