Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will manage a diverse range of critical infrastructure tasks. Key responsibilities include:

  • Infrastructure Maintenance: Manage, configure, and troubleshoot Linux and Windows server environments to ensure continuous uptime.
  • System Monitoring & Performance: Deploy monitoring tools to track health metrics, proactively identifying potential bottlenecks before they impact users.
  • Security Implementation: Harden systems by applying security patches, managing firewall policies, and conducting regular audits to mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Automation & Scripting: Develop and refine scripts (using Python, Bash, or PowerShell) to automate repetitive tasks and improve infrastructure efficiency.
  • Disaster Recovery & Data Integrity: Architect and execute backup/restore strategies, ensuring that critical data is recoverable and secured against loss.
  • Cloud Administration: Maintain cloud resources within platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost efficiency.
  • Identity & Access Management: Manage user permissions, active directory services, and internal security policies to ensure data privacy and compliance.
  • Technical Collaboration: Partner with developers and DevOps engineers to facilitate seamless deployment pipelines and environment parity.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed, accurate documentation of system architecture, SOPs, and incident resolution records.
  • Troubleshooting: Provide high-level technical support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues as they arise.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Foundational understanding of server operating systems (Linux/Windows).
  • Solid grasp of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, and VPN configurations.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, KVM).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills suitable for a remote, collaborative work culture.

Preferred Skills

  • Hands-on experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform).
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., RHCSA, CompTIA Server+, AWS Solutions Architect).
  • Understanding of database management systems (SQL/NoSQL).
