Role Overview

As our Network Administrator, you will be the custodian of our network architecture. You will design, install, monitor, and maintain local and wide-area networks, ensuring high availability, speed, and security. You will work closely with other IT teams to support our infrastructure requirements and resolve complex connectivity issues.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will be extensive, covering the lifecycle of our networking systems:

  • Design, implement, and maintain high-performance network infrastructures (LAN, WAN, WLAN).
  • Configure and manage network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Monitor network performance using advanced tools and proactively optimize traffic flow.
  • Implement and manage VPNs, security policies, and intrusion detection systems (IDS/IPS) to ensure enterprise-grade security.
  • Conduct regular network health checks, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
  • Troubleshoot complex connectivity issues across global remote sites.
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols and network standardization across all environments.
  • Collaborate with cloud engineers to maintain seamless connectivity between on-premises and cloud infrastructures.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of network topologies, configurations, and inventory.
  • Provide tier-2 and tier-3 support for network-related incidents, ensuring rapid resolution.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Networking, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of OSI model, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent enterprise network hardware.
  • Knowledge of firewall management and network security best practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose issues under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively in a remote environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+.
  • Experience with network automation tools (Python, Ansible, Netmiko).
  • Understanding of software-defined networking (SDN) and cloud networking (AWS VPC, Azure VNet).
  • Experience with network monitoring tools like Wireshark, SolarWinds, or PRTG.
