Role Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest, transform, and store large-scale datasets.
- Manage cloud-based data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and data lakes.
- Optimize ETL/ELT processes for efficiency, speed, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and availability through rigorous monitoring and testing.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support their data requirements and infrastructure needs.
- Debug and resolve technical issues in data workflows, including failures in ingestion or transformation.
- Participate in peer code reviews and architectural planning to maintain high engineering standards.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
- Research and implement new data engineering technologies to enhance system performance.
- Document data architecture, pipeline specifications, and technical workflows for long-term maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong proficiency in Python or Java and advanced SQL skills.
- Solid understanding of database management systems (SQL/NoSQL) and distributed computing.
- Experience with data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Airflow, dbt).
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset and a passion for creating reliable data infrastructure.
- Freshers with strong academic foundations in data systems or engineering projects are encouraged to apply; we provide extensive mentorship.

Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their data services.
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for pipeline orchestration.
- Understanding of data modeling techniques (Star Schema, Data Vault).
- Experience with automated testing and monitoring for data pipelines.
- Familiarity with streaming data technologies (e.g., Kafka).
