As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting on financial data related to our project and operational costs. Key Responsibilities

  • Cost Analysis: Track and analyze the actual costs of projects and operational processes against budgeted estimates.
  • Variance Analysis: Perform detailed variance analysis, explaining the ‘why’ behind cost deviations and recommending corrective actions.
  • Inventory Valuation: Monitor and analyze inventory valuations, ensuring that our asset records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Budget Support: Work closely with department leads to develop accurate project budgets and operational cost forecasts.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare detailed cost reports and dashboards for senior leadership to support strategic decision-making.
  • Profitability Analysis: Evaluate the profitability of various projects, services, and product lines.
  • Process Improvement: Recommend and implement changes to cost accounting workflows to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all cost-related data and financial transactions.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all cost accounting practices comply with internal policies and relevant financial standards.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with operations, project managers, and finance teams to provide cost-saving insights.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (ICWA/CMA qualification is highly valued).
  • Freshers are welcome to apply; previous experience in cost accounting or financial analysis is a strong advantage.
  • High proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
  • Strong numerical aptitude and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive financial data.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet strict analytical deadlines.

Preferred Skills

  • Hands-on experience with ERP/Accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally).
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, absorption costing, and activity-based costing.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proactive attitude toward problem-solving in a remote setting.
