Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins to meet project requirements.
  • Modify and extend existing themes and plugins using PHP, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Optimize website performance, loading times, and SEO ranking for our digital properties.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate design assets and custom functionality.
  • Maintain high security standards, ensuring WordPress core, themes, and plugins are always updated.
  • Debug and resolve technical issues, including plugin conflicts and server-side errors.
  • Participate in peer code reviews to maintain engineering standards and best practices.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal development workflows and staging environments.
  • Research and implement new technologies to enhance user interface capabilities and functionality.
  • Document technical specifications, site architecture, and maintenance workflows for long-term support.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in PHP, WordPress theme/plugin development, and modern JavaScript.
  • Solid understanding of web standards (HTML5, CSS3) and responsive design principles.
  • Experience with database management (MySQL) and troubleshooting common WordPress issues.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset and a passion for creating high-quality web experiences.
  • Freshers with strong portfolio projects or internship experience are encouraged to apply; we provide extensive mentorship.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection for consistent, professional virtual collaboration.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with page builders (Elementor, Gutenberg) and custom post types.
  • Knowledge of e-commerce platforms (WooCommerce) and payment gateway integrations.
  • Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and security best practices.
  • Experience with build tools (Webpack, Gulp) and deployment workflows (WP-CLI, CI/CD).
  • Familiarity with REST API development within WordPress.
