Role Overview

ShopFlow Systems is seeking a technical, detail-oriented, and highly skilled Shopify Developer to join our remote-first engineering team. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-converting e-commerce platforms using the Shopify ecosystem. We value efficient Liquid programming, clean theme architecture, and expert knowledge of the Shopify API. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain custom Shopify themes to meet specific business and branding requirements.
  • Develop, modify, and extend Shopify apps and functionalities using Liquid, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Optimize store performance, checkout conversion rates, and mobile responsiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate complex design assets and store features.
  • Manage API integrations with third-party systems like ERPs, CRMs, and payment gateways.
  • Debug and resolve technical issues, including theme conflicts, app-related errors, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Participate in peer code reviews to maintain engineering standards and best practices.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal development workflows, testing, and deployment pipelines.
  • Research and implement new Shopify Plus features and e-commerce trends to enhance user experience.
  • Document technical specifications, store architecture, and maintenance workflows for long-term support.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related technical field.
  • Strong proficiency in Liquid, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Solid understanding of the Shopify ecosystem, theme development, and application development workflows.
  • Experience with database management, API consumption, and troubleshooting e-commerce systems.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset and a passion for creating high-quality, high-converting e-commerce sites.
  • Freshers with strong portfolio projects or internship experience are encouraged to apply; we provide extensive mentorship.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection for consistent, professional virtual collaboration.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Shopify Plus features, Script Editor, or Checkout Extensions.
  • Knowledge of React or Vue.js for custom headless or interactive storefront components.
  • Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and security best practices for e-commerce.
  • Experience with build tools (Webpack, Gulp) and deployment workflows (Shopify CLI).
  • Familiarity with marketing analytics and SEO implementation within Shopify.
