Role Overview

As a Platform Engineer, you will design, build, and operate the internal developer platform (IDP) that serves our engineering teams. You will work to eliminate operational friction by creating self-service workflows, managing container orchestration platforms, and implementing robust CI/CD pipelines. This role is crucial for bridging the gap between infrastructure operations and software development, ensuring our platform is scalable, secure, and developer-friendly.

Key Responsibilities

Your technical expertise will be applied to building and maintaining our developer ecosystem:

  • Developer Platform Development: Architect and maintain internal developer platforms that simplify application lifecycle management.
  • Container Orchestration: Manage, secure, and scale Kubernetes clusters across multi-cloud environments.
  • Automation & IaC: Standardize infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, Crossplane, or Pulumi.
  • CI/CD Engineering: Build and optimize automated build and deployment pipelines to enable rapid, high-quality releases.
  • Developer Experience (DevEx): Reduce developer cognitive load by building self-service tools for resource provisioning and monitoring.
  • Infrastructure Scalability: Ensure platform components are highly available, scalable, and resilient to failures.
  • Observability: Integrate monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) to provide visibility into platform health.
  • Security & Compliance: Embed security controls into the platform layer, managing RBAC, secret management, and compliance standards.
  • Technical Collaboration: Partner with SRE and product teams to translate requirements into scalable platform features.
  • Documentation: Create clear documentation and training materials for platform usage and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Proven proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation.
  • Experience with cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Strong knowledge of Linux internals and networking concepts.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used for automation (Go, Python, or Ruby).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, capable of working effectively in a distributed team.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Service Mesh (e.g., Istio) and API Gateways.
  • Knowledge of GitOps principles and tools like ArgoCD or Flux.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CKA, CKAD).
  • Familiarity with cloud-native security tools and policies.
