Role Overview

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the architecture, deployment, and operational maintenance of our internal and client-facing infrastructure. You will work across a hybrid cloud environment, ensuring that our systems are highly available, secure, and optimized for performance. This role involves deep collaboration with DevOps, security, and software teams to modernize our stack using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.

Key Responsibilities

Your technical expertise will be applied to a broad range of critical operational tasks:

  • Infrastructure Management: Design, maintain, and scale hybrid cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP and on-premises systems).
  • Automation: Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation to ensure consistent environment provisioning.
  • Performance Monitoring: Utilize industry-leading monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana) to maintain optimal system health.
  • Security Compliance: Implement and audit security protocols, manage firewall policies, and ensure compliance with industry-standard security frameworks.
  • Root-Cause Analysis: Lead incident response efforts, performing deep-dive investigations into system failures to prevent recurrence.
  • Containerization: Manage container orchestrations platforms like Kubernetes to streamline application delivery.
  • Disaster Recovery: Architect and regularly test disaster recovery and business continuity plans to protect critical data.
  • Identity & Access Management: Oversee user access policies, IAM configurations, and directory services.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a bridge between development and operations to facilitate smooth CI/CD transitions.
  • Documentation: Create and update technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and SOPs for infrastructure management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering field.
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure fundamentals including networking (TCP/IP, DNS), Linux/Windows system administration, and storage solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Proficiency in automation and scripting languages (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaborative abilities, essential for success in a remote-first team.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with container orchestration technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of database management and storage systems.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, RHCE).
  • Familiarity with modern monitoring and observability platforms.
