Role Overview
IoTStream Dynamics is seeking an inventive, connected-minded, and highly skilled IoT Developer to join our remote-first engineering team. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying firmware and cloud-integrated solutions for our Internet of Things ecosystem. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain secure, reliable firmware for IoT devices using C or C++.
- Design and implement efficient communication protocols (MQTT, HTTP, CoAP) for cloud connectivity.
- Optimize device data transmission for low bandwidth and high availability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate IoT devices with cloud platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT).
- Manage and troubleshoot sensor data acquisition, edge processing, and device management.
- Debug and resolve connectivity, power, and security issues across distributed device networks.
- Participate in peer code reviews to maintain engineering standards and device security.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal build systems, OTA (Over-The-Air) update mechanisms, and testing frameworks.
- Research and implement new IoT standards, security practices, and edge computing patterns.
- Document system design, API communication specifications, and technical workflows for long-term maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong proficiency in C or C++ for embedded systems development.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, BLE, LoRaWAN) and communication protocols.
- Experience with IoT device platforms (ESP32, STM32, Raspberry Pi) and cloud integration.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset and a passion for working with connected hardware.
- Freshers with strong academic foundations in systems or network programming are encouraged to apply; we provide extensive mentorship.
- Access to basic hardware development tools for home-based prototyping.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud IoT platforms (AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, Google Cloud IoT).
- Knowledge of security best practices in IoT (encryption, device identity).
- Experience with scripting languages (Python) for testing and automation.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) for edge services.
- Knowledge of real-time data streaming and processing (Kafka, MQTT brokers).
