Role Overview

LinguaStream AI is a leader in natural language processing and generative language intelligence. We are seeking a highly analytical and technically creative NLP Engineer to join our remote-first machine learning team. In this role, you will be responsible for building, fine-tuning, and deploying advanced language models that power the next generation of conversational AI and text intelligence applications. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy transformer-based language models (LLMs) for a variety of tasks including text generation, summarization, and classification.
• Optimize large-scale text processing pipelines to handle multilingual and unstructured data sources.
• Fine-tune pre-trained models on domain-specific datasets to improve accuracy and relevance for high-stakes enterprise applications.
• Architect and implement semantic search engines and vector databases for efficient information retrieval.
• Perform advanced sentiment analysis, intent recognition, and entity extraction research to improve model reasoning.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to reduce latency and improve resource utilization in model inference.
• Stay current on the latest research in the NLP community, integrating breakthroughs into our core technologies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Linguistics, Artificial Intelligence, or related quantitative field.
• Expert proficiency in Python and solid experience with NLP frameworks like Hugging Face, spaCy, and NLTK.
• Strong grasp of deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) and their application to natural language models.
• Solid understanding of linear algebra and probability as applied to NLP and word embeddings.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on debugging complex linguistic behaviors and model errors.
• Demonstrated capacity to thrive in a 100% remote working environment, maintaining high levels of self-management and team collaboration.

Preferred Skills

• Direct experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) and prompting engineering techniques.
• Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Milvus, Weaviate) for semantic search.
• Knowledge of cloud-based AI infrastructure (AWS SageMaker, Azure Cognitive Services).
• Experience with distributed computing frameworks for large-scale data processing (Spark).
• Prior experience or successful internships involving natural language processing research or production application development.
