Finance - Accountant

Job Description

Michelin is hiring a second Accountant for its Pune finance centre, this one on the general ledger and close rather than the payables desk. The role records and controls accounting transactions against group standards, performs account and bank reconciliations, completes closing activities and keeps records ready for internal and external auditors. The posting asks for 1-3 years in accounting, GL or record-to-report and a B.Com, M.Com or MBA.

Key Responsibilities

• Record, verify and control accounting transactions for accuracy and consistency.
• Ensure GL entries comply with group standards, local regulations and accounting procedures.
• Perform account and bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Explain reconciliations and provide supporting documents to auditors and internal controllers.
• Complete closing activities and reporting within deadlines and quality standards.
• Maintain records that support timely preparation of financial statements.

Required Qualifications

• B.Com, M.Com or MBA with a sound foundation in accounting principles.
• 1-3 years in Accounting, General Ledger or Record-to-Report.
• Experience working with any ERP system.
• Comfort documenting reconciliations for auditors.
