Associate - Accounts Payable (Fresher)

Job Description

Metro Global Solution Center (MGSC) is the internal solution partner for METRO, the international wholesaler with operations in 31 countries and more than 18,000 shared transactions processed every day from Pune and Szczecin. This Accounts Payable Associate role is the entry point into that finance operations team: invoice intake, posting preparation and transfer into SAP FI, payment processing and period-end reporting. The posting asks for basic accounting knowledge and 0-1 years of experience, so it suits a fresher who already understands AP. Basic MS Office skills are expected.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain vendor and master data used by the AP process.
• Receive, administer and control supplier invoices arriving on paper and electronically.
• Prepare postings and transfer them into SAP FI.
• Generate defined standard reports and handle ad hoc reporting requests from the Team Lead.
• Support payment processing, period-end processing and month-end reporting.
• Manage conflicts and queries, and meet the performance objectives agreed with the Team Lead.

Required Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
• 0-1 years of experience in an accounts payable or accounting function.
• Basic computer knowledge with MS Office, especially Excel.
• Willingness to work to SLAs and defined reporting timelines.
