Role Overview

As our Fleet Manager, you will be the strategic lead for our entire fleet operations. You will define maintenance schedules, optimize route logistics to reduce costs, and ensure that every asset is operating at peak performance and full legal compliance. This is a critical leadership role for an individual who excels at operational planning, enjoys leveraging technology to optimize assets, and thrives in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Optimization: Develop and execute strategies to optimize vehicle routing, load planning, and delivery efficiency.
  • Maintenance Scheduling: Implement and oversee comprehensive preventive maintenance schedules to minimize vehicle downtime and extend asset life.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all vehicles and drivers are in full compliance with local transport regulations, licensing, and safety standards.
  • Cost Management: Monitor fuel consumption, repair costs, and insurance premiums, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Performance Tracking: Establish, track, and report on key fleet performance indicators (KPIs) like asset utilization, cost-per-mile, and delivery timeliness.
  • Asset Lifecycle Management: Oversee the acquisition and disposal of fleet assets to maintain an efficient and cost-effective fleet mix.
  • Vendor Partnership: Manage relationships with external repair shops, fuel providers, and vehicle dealerships.
  • Technology Integration: Leverage telematics and fleet management software to track real-time vehicle performance and driver behavior.
  • Emergency Response: Manage incident response protocols in the event of breakdowns, accidents, or logistical disruptions.
  • Mentorship: Foster a culture of excellence by mentoring operations staff on fleet management best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related fields.
  • Freshers are welcome to apply; previous leadership or operational experience in fleet management is highly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analytics and fleet management software tools.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Deep understanding of local transport laws, vehicle maintenance standards, and safety regulations.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities in high-stakes operational environments.

Preferred Skills

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance immediate maintenance needs with long-term financial goals.
  • Experience with telematics systems and route optimization technology.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) for executive reporting.
  • Strong capacity to manage complexity in a remote-first, fast-paced organization.
