Role Overview

As an Azure Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining robust cloud solutions within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. You will work closely with development and operations teams to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and cost-effective infrastructure. You will focus on Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automated deployment pipelines, and operational excellence to support our diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities

Your work will be central to our operational stability. Key responsibilities include:

  • Cloud Architecture: Architect, build, and deploy highly available, scalable cloud infrastructure using Azure services (Virtual Machines, App Services, Functions, SQL Database, VNet, etc.).
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Manage and provision Azure resources using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
  • Pipeline Automation: Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions to accelerate release cycles.
  • Cost Optimization: Regularly analyze Azure consumption; implement cost-saving strategies such as right-sizing, reserved instances, and auto-scaling.
  • Security & Governance: Implement and enforce Azure security best practices, including Azure AD, RBAC, Key Vault, and Network Security Groups.
  • Performance Monitoring: Utilize Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Containerization: Manage containerized workloads using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or Container Instances.
  • Disaster Recovery: Design and document robust backup and recovery strategies, ensuring high availability and business continuity.
  • Collaboration: Partner with developers to support application deployments and troubleshoot connectivity or deployment issues.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of cloud infrastructure, SOPs, and system configurations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of core Azure services and architectural patterns.
  • Proven proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform/Bicep/ARM).
  • Experience with container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows server administration and networking concepts.
  • Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, capable of working effectively in a remote team environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent professional certifications.
  • Experience with serverless computing (Azure Functions).
  • Knowledge of Azure database services (Azure SQL, Cosmos DB).
  • Understanding of monitoring and observability tools like Grafana, Prometheus, or Azure Monitor.
