Job Description

As a leader in cross-cutting initiatives, you’ll design and deliver large-scale backend projects across teams while identifying bottlenecks. You’ll also manage Go services at scale, optimize Kubernetes operations for deployment and scalability, adopt Rust for production systems, modernize Ruby/Rails applications, and work on PostgreSQL with distributed databases and queues. Key Responsibilities

• Lead cross-cutting initiatives to design and deliver large-scale backend projects that span teams and identify bottlenecks in infrastructure and product groups.
• Drive architecture strategies for modular systems including modernization of monoliths and legacy backends, while preventing fragmentation and service sprawl.
• Define standards for APIs, contracts, security, observability, performance, operability, maintainability, build/test/deploy/release/rollback practices.
• Establish shared patterns in dependency management, data ownership, eventing, failure isolation, service maturity, operational documentation, Go service patterns, Kubernetes practices, and Rust adoption.
• Own what you build in production to lead on-call incidents, act as a technical escalation point, and turn lessons into improvements that prevent recurrence.
• Influence and partner with leadership on platform-level roadmap decisions and investment trade-offs.
• Grow engineers by mentoring senior and intermediate developers, reducing technical debt, improving throughput through reusable patterns, and raising the team’s technical capability.
• Lead AI adoption to shape workflows, ensure quality, security, privacy, and operational guardrails for agent output.

Required Qualifications

• Go services and APIs at scale
• Kubernetes and cloud-native operations with deployments, scaling, observability, rollback, production readiness
• Rust adoption or ownership for systems, security, performance, or platform components
• Ruby/Rails modularization and large-monolith modernization
• PostgreSQL scaling, data partitioning, queues, messaging, or distributed systems
• Security-sensitive product or software supply chain engineering
• Experience across SaaS, single-tenant, self-managed, or air-gapped deployment constraints.
